UMDA Global Markets Food Drive: Donate Today, Feed a Family Tomorrow.
Dear Esteemed public and private organizations, store owners, influencers, community leaders and compassionate individuals.
As Nigeria grapples with soaring food costs, many families struggle to put meals on the table. The UMDA Global Markets Food Drive is a noble initiative aimed at alleviating this burden.
We invite you to partner with us!
Donate free or discounted food items with up to two weeks shelf life remaining (before expiry, minimum) to our project. Your contribution will bring hope and nourishment to those in need. We understand that some of the food items on your store/shelf may be getting closer to expiration hence might go to waste, but we can help someone in need with these category of food items. You also can otherwise choose to sell it/them at a much discounted price(s). We also understand that you may be able to outrightly provide food items to a list of Nigerians in need, hence our humble appeal to you.

We track and share the impact of all donations across our platforms maintaining an open verification system.

Our future plans
we aim to continue in this regard as part of our startup's (brand's) social development programme, and by extension would seek to collaborate with a broader pool of organizations and individuals.
What types of donations are welcome?
- Non-perishable items (canned goods, pasta, rice, etc.)
- Fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, etc.)
- Packaged meals (ready-to-eat, snacks, etc.)
How to participate?
Throughout the month of October our platform (retail store) would be available to receive these items. Follow the steps listed below.
Item Distribution
The members of public will be invited in the month of November to get these items on our platform on www.umda.mobi. You can check everything about the item (order) including recipients' details on your sales dashboard. The items would be delivered to the provided addresses. The recipients would pay for the deliveries where applicable. We use the services of 3PLS for delivery.
As Store owners:
1.Visit www.umda.mobi
2. Sign up to create a new account.
3. Register as a Vendor. Your vendor account would be verified before you can proceed. This should take less than 24 hours.
4. On your dashboard follow these steps, click on 1. Regular Store 2. Go to Store 3. Add regular items.
5. Add the items (details) you want to contribute. Ensure you select "food item" under Item category, and include a good jpg or PNG image of the food item.
6. Ensure you start the item name with "FREE" or "help9ja" or "feed9ja", example, 'FreeRice' or 'help9jaRice' or 'feed9jaRice.'
7. Add "0" as the price or any other subsidized amount.
8. Enter the item unit (number) you are contributing. Save the details when you are done.
9. On your dashboard, follow these steps, click on: 1.My Stores 2. Go-to Store 3. View all table items 4. Select an item 5. Uncheck the blue button 6. Click 'Update'. This will deactivate the item until you are ready to roll out. Repeat to reactivate item.
9. You can change your settings from your dashboard.
10. Optionally, visit https://umda.mobi/delivery/apply-logistics/ to add the details of a delivery personnel around you (that is if you don't have). The delivery of the food item should be paid for by the recipient as we do not have the funds yet for shipping.
As Individuals/organizations
Follow the same steps above or Contact us at contact@umda.mobi to arrange for food item pickup and/or drop-off. If you need further formal documentations we would be make such available on demand.
